May Be I am a Lion

Overcome  Fear in 3 steps

Parkour Beginner's #1 Enemy

When starting Parkour you may find your self feeling fear sometimes, maybe fear to make the fool of you self in public, may be fear to getting heart while training. If you feel like that it's normal, specially if you are just starting, or even more, if you are just thinking about starting. In this post I will cover this fears you may find in your way and also method to learn to control them and finally get rip off. Please, feel free to leave comments and questions below and I will be honor to answer them.

First Step, use your mind

If you want to defeat fear, you must be first very aware of it, I know if you fear something, most sure you know what the source of that fear is. but there may be sometimes when you just fear, if that the case, you need fist to use you mind, just relax and think about it, reflect on ti and even meditate  about it, you need to find here the mind factor of that fear.
Let's say you feel fear before performing a Kong Vault, you need to know why, is that you think you haven't trained that much? Is just lack of confident? Why the fear of that jump? why the fear of that place? etc first find out what do you fear for sure, and when you are be able to point a finger on it then you may proceed.

Second Step, use your body

After you have a clear factor defined, you need to go back to the "Gym" and training will be you guide here. Let's say you feel fear before the Kong Vault like before. If that the case you will use this step to practice the kong vault as much as you can reducing the risk of it, use some airbed around the obstacle, watch videos about people making that move, be sure you know how to do the move the right way, make extra exercise to gain strength and agility, so for this example, you would work out your arms. Train a lot till you almost want to fight that fear, because in this step you gain the confident you need it before, train as much as you need, for you are the only one who knows for sure when you are ready.
While training try to always have in your mind your goal and when you feel ready you may proceed to the final step.

Final Step, use you soul

Once you know what's the source of your fear and have trained for it, you just need to go a defeat your demon. In this step you go to that place and conquer it, you take that jump the best way you can.
Why I said you need you soul for this step? Well you may have another name to call it, but most sure when you want to defeat your fears, you need to be able to do that final jump, take that step, and in the hardest one because, if you have mediate and trained then do it is the last thing to do, and fear may does a last appearance here. You will need to use your soul, that inner voice, your heart, or whatever you want to call it, to not surrender in the final moment, in this final step, to succeed to need to believe in your self and just complete the task you have trained for. This may sound easy for some, and to hard for others, for those who think this step is not true, believe me, if you have meditate about it, and trained for it, this step is the easiest one, and becomes easier every!

With this 3 steps a think you can defeat you fears and not only for parkour but for most things you have time to reflect about it and train for it! Hope you enjoyed the post and please leave a comment and share! Stay fit and have a great one.

Fox out.

Learn Parkour Basic Moves : Kong Vault

The Kong vault is one of the hardest basic move to learn but once you know how to do it it becomes a very nice move to add to your training and style, just remember to always position your hands in the middle of the obstacle and avoid edges. It just take a little practice and training, so let's see how is done.

Learn Parkour Basic Moves Watching Videos

You can learn a lot just from watching videos of other people performing this move, but of course you will need to training a lot, but once you know where your hand suppose to go, and where to land your feet, its much easier, after all Parkour its all about visualization, after you know which move you want to do next, the only thing left to do is to complete that vision.

Learn Parkour I Basic Parkour Moves ( Parkour Training Level Beginner )

"Every Big Movement Starts Small"

Just like the tittle says, in order to develop your Parkour skills you need to start small, so this post will be more like a "Parkour for beginners" when I list the basics moves that every traceur ( Parkour enthusiastic ) should know and master before anything else.

You need to execute this moves in a fluid manner and naturally adapt them to different situations and been able to connect them in the most efficient way. But remember the most important think is to have a lot a fun while learning! Let's digg in:

Basic Parkour Moves That You Should Master

Tips: You fall on your shoulder  and you try to be as  relax         as possible so the move runs smooth.

Tips: You need to take a good grab and then use your leg's strength to propel your body up the wall.

Tip: You need to focus in the                    point you want to land, may        seems hard but it just take training         and you will  do this naturally without even thinking of.

Tip: You need to use the move to propel your self, this is not a arms training, your arms strength isn't the most important thing here, but use your arms to "guide" you to vault in a fluid move.

Tip: Avoid positioning your hand in the edges of the obstacle you are trying to pass by..

With this Basics but awesome moves you can start developing your own unique style, so master this moves and stay in touch to learn more on the next post! Hope you enjoy this post and if you like it, please comment ans share.

The Art Of Movement

The World Is My Play Ground

Hello reader! here I am again! Its late at night but I couldn't sleep...still can't practice so I have a lot of extra energy I do not know what to do with it xD So I was reading my first post titled "What is Parkour?" and even if it explains what Parkour is, I am not happy with it! Why? Because I was trying to express what is Parkour for me and what do I feel when I training, and I didn't achieve this.

So consider this "round 2"; I will not talk about techniques or movements this time ( but I will in the future, so keep in touch for the new posts to come! =D ).

So why Parkour? Why when  most of the people just walk, sit or shop I choose to jump or run like the wind? I wonder many times why do I feel so good when practice Parkour and why nobody teached me something like this back in school or even in my home....and thats what I want to answer in this post, so wish me luck xD

I never said how older I am, but is not a secret, I am 25 years old! But all this started when i was much more younger....just running...I remenber no matter what problem I had in my head, running always helped me in the past to reach a little clarity...whenever I felt confuse I just went running maybe less than one hour and when I was back my head was much clear....

Parkour In The Forest

So it started with running, when after years running just wasn't enough, that's when I begin to don't mind if some obstacles was ahead, I would go over it in the most efficient way ( I should say also that when I learned and practice the most was when I was living in a little city when a nice forest to play in ) so I begin to just jump over the fallen trees or maybe climb over small rocks  to keep running....and every time it was better, not only my movements where smooths, also the feeling was greater! bigger and better!
People use to give me a strange look , and my friend just laugh about it, but then one magic day.... I find out that what I was doing had a name ( and it wasn't Fox craziness xD ) , it was called Parkour! (also called as "free running").

So I felt really happy I wasn't the only one who believed that running around was a lot of fun, also after knowing the name of the "sport" ( and let me say something before I go on...I don't really think of Parkour as a sport, I truly believe Parkour is more like a way of living than a sport, but  because I think most people who doesn't know what Parkour is will understand better so probably I'll keep calling it "sport" in the future ) any way, after knowing the name of the game I was able to find a lot of material about it, and a lot of videos and spectacular pictures, different experiences, "new movements" for me and much more....

So....I still have a lot to learn, and a lot of training to do! So this blog is to invited all interested people to join me a learn more together! But please don't think I want to teach you or lead you or nothing, just for sharing! Free running is about that: FREE running xD

So like you know, there are no rules in Parkour, no winners or losers, as long as you achieve your goal you will be a winner from beginning to end, just keep training, be confident in your jumps, but never fall in over-confidence or you will learn by the bad way xD  Parkour is about enjoying the Present, and not living only in the future, Parkour is about been in harmony with your surrounding.

Well, I like more this definition, so i will stop here, but if you enjoy this post please comment and share! And stay in touch because more content is coming soon!  Thanks for reading and have a nice one!

I will repeat the last part once again, Parkour is about living the moment, you start with little and short moves...but  it only grows...all big movements starts small...The World is Your Play Ground To ;)
